The Lord's Prayer: Forgive Us As We Forgive

If we are ever in need of something, it is God's mercy. Even still this request for God's forgiveness is not one-sided. We pray, "Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us."

Forgiveness

Forgiveness - we need it and we need to extend it!

We certainly have a transformational week ahead of us as we consider this verse...

Our own need for forgiveness

We sin every day, and every time we approach God in prayer, we need forgiveness for something. We need His mercy to continue our relationship with Him.

Are you broken over your sin? Do you need to ask forgiveness - again and again? Ask God to renew you and overcome especially those repeated sins that eat away at us.

A heart that forgives

When we are aware of our own need for forgiveness, we are setting ourselves up to forgive others much more readily. Let's not hold on to bitterness and harbor thoughts of retaliation.

May God work in our heart this week as we consider this challenge - to forgive others the way we want to be forgiven by God.
